Pastor's Corner

Grace and Peace to Everyone Today!

My name is Trudi Sturzenegger……

For those that do not know, I am the newly nominated Calvary Lutheran Church Council President. The following Members make up the rest of Council: Brian Opper (Vice President), Chris Imhoff (Secretary), Chris Schleif, Roger Weber, Jen Schlafer-Woller, Rob Daley, and Anthony Renken. I am looking forward to working with Council and all the challenges that may come. Please feel free to contact myself or any other Council Member with any questions or concerns that you may have. Also, if you have anything that needs Councils attention, please let one of us know so we can get it on the agenda.

Our 2020 Lenten journey begins. As has been the tradition for many years, Calvary will once again have a Midweek Lenten Ser-vice at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights up until Holy Week. Prior to the service we will be having our soup and sandwich meal starts at 6:00 p.m. and is a free will offering. Council has decided to donate the offerings from the Midweek Lenten Service and soup and sandwich to the Plautz Family house fire. Please consider helping with these meals by signing up to bring soup, sandwiches or desserts. There are signup sheets in the narthex. The meals will be served by the various committees and groups of the Church. Hope that you will join us for fellowship and Lenten Services.

“We need to take time to connect with the poor, resist our unceasing cravings, and pray. But we also need to gather with friends and family, share in God’s good provision, eat delicious food, tell stories that encourage us all, and celebrate the risen Lord. “
